Alright, this will be the last update of !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . Partly because I think it is reaching an end, and partly because I’m just done with both parties at this point.

Had a talk with my old boss and a rep from the new company. Long story short, I was right - the new position was to do something rather....tangential to what I’ m doing now. Basically, they wanted me to facilitate building them a new chemical plant by moving a bunch of old equipment from my old job into a warehouse and basically convert a section of that building into a chemical plant. Aside from the fact that I am far, FAR from a chemical engineer, I am barely able to help with that sort of thing, let alone lead it. Also I hate doing it. Also also, that old equipment isn’t worth using. Also also also, I have been vocal about not turning that part of the warehouse into a chemical plant from day 1.

So. Yeah. That bombshell dropped and threw everyone into another panic. Then I found out my old employer definitely didn’t have ANY documentation of the end of my employment, but they did cancel my insurance policies and take me off all payroll documents. How nice of them!

Many hours of talks commenced, amounting to very little. By god, everyone at the new company would make a fine member of congress with how many words it took them to say absolutely nothing of value. I already know I’m not taking the position. Even though I said give me the weekend, this has soured me on working with anyone there, which is a shame.

It’s funny how much of a dream job I thought this was going to be - developing car care products and car washes and yet this is how it ends. Oh well.

I have an interview with a new company on monday and another on wednesday. Sucks for my current co-workers, but it’s my old/current/whatever boss they’re mad at. But I’ll be back at it in someone else’s lab soon!

Thanks! I think it’s for the best. Some new opportunities nearby me just opened up and some of my existing contacts are also interested in helping out.
